Established in 2013, ZUKO, began as a self-funded project back in Cape Town, South Africa, by Wimpie, a farm-town kid from Groblersdal, who had a dream…

Knowing nothing about clothing, design or fashion. It all started with playing in a band and getting some designs made and printed for the people at shows. Moved back home to Groblersdal, found out about the process of screen printing and direct to garment… everything evolved from there.

With the use of social networking, ZUKO. quickly developed into something that could no longer be tamed from the single room it was created in.

We are a lifestyle brand which focuses on our name attributes, an African Ngunie name, meaning a person with a GOOD and LOVING and KIND heart. Our journey is your journey, it’s a story not just about a garment but a way of life.

We believe everyone can reach and impact their immediate surroundings for good. By wearing our product in the street, at the gym, while partying, exploring the mountain or sea, or being casual at the office.

We believe that ZUKO. is a lifestyle in which our extensive range can accommodate.

The early days of Zuko…

In 2013, Wimpie, was living in Groblersdal, relocated to his parents after a 7 year Cape Town experience. Amid all the challenges, he still worked on this Zuko dream, day in day out.

The journey he had as adoptee, while traveling, spending time with people, he noticed that there was something missing – a Truly Unique African T-shirt brand, portraying an authentic South African story, something that can touch hearts. and showcasing individuality for someone, like him, who still figured out his personal journey of self discovery of where he came from, who he was, and what he should do. Something that can tell his story, so others may have the courage to write their own.

Around 2018, he moved to Pretoria to find a more sustainable day job to work on this dream and closer to the factories in Gauteng. After lots of errors and paying school fees with design concepts and materials, Still releasing the various ranges…
the Zuko South Africa and Originz ranges was born, keeping true, to Every South African that will come across it.

As part of our vision 2021, Zuko plans to collaborate with more individuals around the country. We will be expanding our #zukofit range and our #zukobeauty products. Zuko Clothing is looking for more individuals, businesses and brands to collaborate with.

We want to make more hopeful and meaning connections in South Africa and abroad to spread the message of hope and a bright future.
